I globally wanted something inspired by royalty (so I've made an animal and floral graphics) I wanted something also military and martial so I add few graphics around the Life's Decay cross. I wanted a luxury feeling, that's why I took this kind of sword. I wished something globally "old style". And the must for a Life's Decay artworks is only full white on a black background which is technically harder then having choice of more then one color.
When we started the band we knew Jeremiah was going to be leaving in the near future so we kind of thought of it as a temporary project. So when he left we took a little time off and decided we loved it too much and wanted to keep the band going.

Thank you! It is a daydream that I had at the heart of winter in -03. And that dream is actually really important part of Somnivore, with all it's illogical and somewhat surreal nature. I tried to capture lots of that athmosphere to track "Somnivore", which I started to make in late -02, but finalized after this dream. Train through dark blue and snowy lappish woods seems to be for me one of the most inspiring places.

Prypjat is a modern ghost-town. It is one of the cities that lay right beneath the nuclear power plant of Chernobyl, where this terrible accident happend in 1986. I chose this town because of its very strong symbolic character. When I looked at pictures of this forsaken city,it really gives me the creeps.
Of course to be able to live by the art. But besides that...to one day wake up and don't feel the pain of living. To be all thru happy, totally drunk or just numb. The day that I don't go round hating the human race and all the shit we're doing...
