Tyko Saarikko: We search the unknown worlds and try to bring them into our music. Each album is like a journey waiting, we will guide for a while and then the listener can carry on. A circle is fulfilled when the audience gets the same shivers what we experienced when making the music.
There are numerous compositions that have straight parallels to a view, event or element in nature. Classical themes for us are water and its waves, songbirds song, sunrise or sun set, a flower, a shore, the trees and their branches, stones, different seasons etc. These themes represent nothing more than what they are or they convey deeper meanings to us.
We think that in general the world is anti-Russian, sometimes for objective reasons, but sometimes because of stereotypes. The cold war of the 60s and 70s deeply influenced the minds of western people. The propaganda worked very well and the image of the Soviet people, the role of the Red Army in the victory of WWII, and the common lifestyle of Russians were rather distorted in the eyes of the western world.

Sometimes the line between myself and the Red King is razor thin. Folks often wonder how much of the performances are "real". I like to leave it a bit ambiguous. Leaving some of the mystery keeps one engaged in something. However, I'm not one of those musician types who is limited to a single identity. I have many other interests that I pursue with equal dedication.
The majority of the outrage and aggression directed toward me was as a result of the erect penis image on DV2. This was not helped by the fact that this was the image that Beta - Lactam Records and some other sellers chose to advertise the record. I was disappointed that so many people took this image out of context from the rest of the artwork...
Well Nicholas has a white snake that dances to his music and my music and everybody else's. Even music he plays in his cellar (laughter). So that's where the idea came from to name it. But it's about the split tongue of the snake and is the beginning of the trilogy. So we start with something simple, something people recognize.
