From the very beginning we have stressed this thing. First of all we are an ITALIAN band (in the oldest meaning of this term – nothing to do with Italy of today, nor with politics or the crap topping Italian charts at the moment). Our Italy is “a place of the spirit”, a wonderful land crystallized on a period ranging from the first years of XX century to the Seventies...
Oh yeah! i love it. we have dozens of old romanic and gothic churches and cathedrals here...and i love the mood and the shiver. the point is: look at gothic music. why is it so successful? it is an escape from reality in a more ideal romantic world.
As we told you, in the beginning we were a duo (2 guitars), and now we are a quintet with contrabass, piano, drums. The organics in these 5 years have expanded. Over the years our influences and interested have changed and evolved. In those five years we explored the neofolk genre..
The legend of this beverage is huge, and I've just added something from my heart about it. I wanted "Onoskelis" to have a decadent feel of the fin de siecle times, and it just had to have Absinthe there. The album cover and some titles have significant resemblance to the Art Nouveau and decadence, because I find those times very intriguing.
Most of it was recorded in Ireland, but I went for a recording session in Athens, Greece, as I was desperate to get on with the album and a good friend of mine offered to help me out. Some people recorded parts and send them to me. It wasn’t that difficult really, as its very minimal music, so there isn’t that much instrumentation. I actually played most of it myself.
As you probably know the percussive instruments are the first invented instruments in pre-historic times, they are related to the first religious form of experience the shamanism. The percussions have a special role in Bulgarian, Balkan and Oriental folklore music and ritual traditions.
Honestly I just make the music I want and that's about it. Yeah I like to dance and all that. I like dark ambient and I like experimental and as long as I like it I'll make it. If someday I wake up and decided I hate industrial music and think, this sucks! Well I won't see it that way I'm sure. But if suddenly I don't like something it won't be created like that any more. I have no contractual obligation with anybody.
