Odroerir - Odroerir 7"

Odroerir 7\"

Artist: Odroerir Germany

Title: Odroerir 7"

Label: Self Released

Genre: Black Metal / Pagan Metal

This newer band is led by Fix, also a leading member of the pioneering German Heathen Metal band MENHIR.

The anthemic title song begins with a BATHORY influenced choral intro, and the rest of the melodies seem influenced by medieval music. "Idafeld" is a successful mix of electric and acoustic guitars, female and male vocals, and violin. ODROERIR manage to interweave Viking and Power Metal & Folk Rock elements seamlessly and shine with complex songwriting, subtly flowing arrangements and German lyrics culled directly from the Poetic Edda.

In the well-designed sleeve, the band members are pictured in Viking Age garb; indeed, in Germany, there is a growing scene of people from the Metal scene involved in Medieval and Viking fairs and campouts, often combined with Metal concerts. Where many others look cartoonish, ODROERIR manage to look noble as well as produce some truly uplifting sounds. Another excellent release from Det Germanske Folket.
